Combining functional nanoparticles with polymers can create advanced polymer nanocomposites, which are recently arousing considerable interest in the field of energy storage and conversion. For the power energy storage application in dielectric capacitors, we have proposed a concept of “l(fā)ocal alignment of conducting nanoparticles” to develop giant-permittivity polymer composites with low losses. Further, near-percolated-networks of reduced graphene oxide were explored in a soft polymer media to achieve a large permittivity variation with mechanical deformation. The resultant materials show a giant electrostrictive coefficient and thus can be used in energy harvester to efficiently convert mechanical energy into electricity. In addition, we have also developed polymer composite fibers to convert thermal energy into mechanical one based on the concept of shape-memory twisted fiber. Our polymer fibers doped by graphene oxide exhibit an ever record mechanical energy density, showing a great promise for the use in miniaturized and strong torsional actuators.

2016年通過中科院率先行動(dòng)“百人計(jì)劃”引進(jìn)回國,進(jìn)入中科院化學(xué)研究所工程塑料重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室工作,任項(xiàng)目研究員,課題組長。長期從事新型能源相關(guān)聚合物復(fù)合材料的研究工作。迄今為止共發(fā)表SCI論文26篇,其中以第一作者或通訊作者在Science,Nature Communications 、Advanced Materials 等頂級(jí)期刊上發(fā)表SCI論文12篇,并受邀撰寫專著章節(jié)2部。發(fā)表文章共計(jì)被Web of Science引用>1100次(Google Scholar引用>1500次),多篇文章入選ESI高引用論文。研究成果被 ScienceDaily、 Phys.org等媒體highlight。美國材料研究學(xué)會(huì)、英國化學(xué)工業(yè)協(xié)會(huì)成員。受邀擔(dān)任學(xué)術(shù)期刊包括 Energy & Environmental Science, Carbon, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, The Journal of Physical Chemistry, Journal of Materials ChemistryA(C), Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, RSC Advances, 等審稿人。
